Google Clips https://jiji.ng/20-chairs/sets review of portable smart camera
If you have children or pets, you have probably been frustrated more than once by not having a camera or smartphone handy to capture the most unusual moments of their lives. The search giant has solved this problem with the release of Google Clips, a small, intelligent smart camera that automatically records short videos at just the right moment.
Google Clips design and build quality
The design of Google Clips is quite simple – it’s a tiny 49x49x20mm square and weighs only 60.6g (with clip). The Google Mini Camera features a large front shutter button, three LEDs, a swiveling lens, a nearly invisible reset button, and a USB-C port.
The build quality here is excellent, nothing dangles. The shutter button has good feedback, and the lens can be rotated with complete confidence that it will not fall off.
Clips offers just what you need and nothing more. This is a compact, elegant camera with interesting features.
Features and performance
Google Clips Camera is equipped with a 12MP 1.55µm sensor that allows you to shoot in low light conditions with minimal noise. The clips I recorded in dark conditions looked pretty clear.
The viewing angle here is 130 degrees, which makes it easier to find potential objects in the frame and is very important, since the gadget does not have a viewfinder. You can only see what is happening in the frame using the smartphone application.
Clips by Google shoots at 15 frames per second, which is very slow. This is because the mini camera is designed to create short, separate clips and is not suitable for capturing fast-moving subjects. After filming my running cat, I had to delete some videos because the frame rate did not match the movement of the subject in the frame.
The f/2.4 aperture strikes a good balance, offering enough light to create clips without too much noise, while maintaining the right depth of field for a fixed focus.
